Daegu Local History Museum

understanding of the history and folk culture of Daegu
The Daegu Local History Museum is located within Dalseongtoseong Fortress (presently Dalseong Park), the most well-preserved of all of Korea’s earthen fortresses, and was designed and built to promote a wider understanding among citizens of the history and folk culture of Daegu.

Opened in 1997, the museum has steadily gathered a collection of 2,700 relics, of which 250 are on permanent display in the second exhibition room. Going forward, the museum will strengthen its research on Daegu’s history and culture with the goal of preserving the region’s traditional culture and enhancing the pride of Daegu citizens.
