지역 미술계의 중추적 역할을 담당하는
중견작가들의 활동을 능동적으로 지원하고,
40∼60대 현역 중견작가에게 작품 제작의 동기를 부여하여
재도약의 기회를 제공하고자 한다.

* 참여 작가: 현역 중견작가 총 4명(김희선, 심윤, 이정, 정지현)
* 전시 작품: 미디어 설치, 서예, 회화 등 작품 50여 점 및
작가별 아카이브 자료
* 1전시실: 김희선
· 전시주제 <바람이 되어(Become the wind)>
· 전시작품 : 미디어 작품 6여 점
· 전시내용
: 장자의 소요유와 제물론에 대한 고찰을 바탕으로
물성에 대한 허무적 시각과 비물질적 세계에 대한
사유를 담은 미디어 설치작품 전시
* 2전시실: 이 정
· 전시주제 <서예농사(Sowing words)>
· 전시작품 : 서예 및 영상 설치 12여 점
· 전시내용
: 문자를 붓으로 쓰는 행위를 작물을 심고 가꾸는
농사의 태도에 은유하며, 반복되는 시간의 축적 속에서
드러나는 내면의 감정과 수행성을 표현하는
서예 작업 및 영상설치 작품 전시
* 3전시실: 심 윤
· 전시주제
· 전시작품 : 대형회화 14여 점
· 전시내용
: 현대인의 무기력과 피로를 은유적인 이미지를 통해 표현하며,
관람자 스스로에게 그들이 짊어진 일상의 무게와
내면의 고통을 돌아보게 하는 대형 회화작품 전시
* 4전시실: 정지현
· 전시주제 <기록되지 않은 것(Whispers Unwritten)>
· 전시작품 : 회화 20여 점
: 무관심과 편견, 소외 등으로 인해 기록되지 않거나
기록이 멈춘 존재들에 관한 시선을 화폭에 담으며,
그들 존재가 가진 의미와 회화의 가능성을 실험하는 전시
* 5전시실: 아카이브 공간
· 작가별 인터뷰 영상 상영 및 아카이브 자료 전시
* 전시실 입구: 전광판을 활용한 참여작가 영상 작품 상영
Special Exhibition for Mid-Career Artists: A Platform for Reflection and Renewal

Daegu Culture and Arts Center, Art Museum ‘Space Hive’
The Daegu Culture and Arts Center presents a special exhibition designed to actively support the continued artistic endeavors of mid-career artists who play a central role in the regional art scene. This exhibition seeks to inspire artists in their 40s to 60s to embark on new creative journeys and offers a valuable opportunity for artistic reinvigoration.
Featuring over 50 works across various mediums—media installations, calligraphy, and painting—this exhibition brings together four distinguished mid-career artists. Each gallery space highlights a unique artistic perspective, accompanied by archival materials that offer insight into each artist’s practice and philosophy.
Exhibition Overview
Gallery 1 – Kim Hee-sun
Theme: Become the Wind
Works: Approximately 6 media installations
Description:
Inspired by the Taoist texts Xiaoyao You and Zhuangzi’s Qiwulun, the artist presents media installations that explore the futility of materiality and contemplate an immaterial world.
Gallery 2 – Lee Jung
Theme: Sowing Words
Works: Approximately 12 pieces, including calligraphy and video installations
Description:
The act of writing characters with a brush is metaphorically likened to cultivating crops. Through accumulated repetition, the artist expresses inner emotions and spiritual discipline in calligraphy and video installation works.
Gallery 3 – Sim Yoon
Works: Approximately 14 large-scale paintings
Description:
Using metaphorical imagery, these paintings address the lethargy and fatigue of modern life, encouraging viewers to reflect on the burdens and inner pain they carry in their daily existence.
Gallery 4 – Jung Ji-hyun
Theme: Whispers Unwritten
Works: Approximately 20 paintings
Description:
Focusing on those whose lives have gone unrecorded due to indifference, prejudice, or marginalization, the artist explores the meaning of their existence and the possibilities of painting as a medium.
Gallery 5 – Archive Space
This space features artist interviews and archival materials, offering a deeper understanding of each artist's body of work and creative process.
Entrance Area
Video artworks by participating artists are shown on LED displays at the entrance, serving as a prelude to the exhibition experience.
