삼보모터스(주)와 협력하여 새로운 전시로 탄생했습니다.

2025 Young Artists of the Year Exhibition

– A New Vision in Collaboration with SAMBO Motors Co., Ltd. –

Since 1998, the Young Artists of the Year exhibition has been a flagship program of the Daegu Art Museum, discovering and supporting emerging talents in the Korean art scene. In 2025, this long-standing exhibition takes a bold step forward through a new partnership with SAMBO Motors Co., Ltd., marking the beginning of a strengthened commitment to fostering young artists and corporate social responsibility.

This year, one artist among the five selected participants will be honored with the newly established Sambo Art Prize, which comes with a 30 million KRW cash award and public recognition. This prize aims to empower emerging artists while highlighting the value of corporate support in cultural development.

In addition to professional evaluation, audience voting from JULY 31 (Thu) to August 7 (Thu) will also be included in the final judging criteria. We encourage your enthusiastic participation—your vote could shape the future of a rising artist.

Exhibition Overview

• Title: 2025 Young Artists of the Year in partnership with SAMBO Motors Co., Ltd.

• Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Participating Artists & Exhibition Highlights

① Gallery 1 / KANG Minyoung – SYLPH (Painting, Installation)
Exploring experiences beyond visual perception, Kang presents a dynamic interplay of light, time, and movement, expanding the boundaries of traditional painting.

② Gallery 2 / KIM Sangdeok – I LOVE YOU, FAKE WORLD. (Painting)
Kim constructs a dreamlike mirror world between reality and illusion, capturing strange phenomena and offering scenes that resist categorization or fixed interpretation.

③ Gallery 3 / SHIN Junmin – LIGHTWALK (Painting)
A meditative journey in search of light, using white as both illumination and reflection. Shin's works highlight the sensory weight of light inside and outside the canvas.

④ Gallery 4 / LEE Jaeho – A LANDSCAPE OF SOMEONE (Painting, Installation)
Lee visualizes fleeting moments of unfamiliar sensations from everyday scenery. His fragmented, irregular paintings scattered across the space form a larger, shifting landscape.

⑤ Gallery 5 / BYUNKAKA – SYMPTOMS OF TIME (Installation)
Byun examines themes of life and death, aging, health, and intergenerational connections. The work questions societal norms and reveals our desire for eternity and meaning.

1. Artist Seminar & Final Judging for the Sambo Art Prize

• Participants: 5 Young Artist of the Year finalists

• Program:

  • Artist presentations (20 mins)

  • Additional artist talks (10 mins per artist)
     

2. Sambo Art Prize Award Ceremony

• Date: August 8 (Fri), 2025, 17:00 (TBD)

• Venue: Central Courtyard, Daegu Arts Center Gallery

• Program: Award presentation, commemorative plaque ceremony, speeches, and gallery tour
   

3. Artist Talks – Meet the Artist

• Date:  8.23.(Sat) at 3 PM during August 2025

• Venue: Space Hive, Daegu Arts Center Gallery

• Content: Each participating artist will hold one public talk session to explain their work and interact with visitors.

• Admission: Free
